Former UFC welterweight king Georges St Pierre had surgery on his torn ACL last week and returned to the doctors for another check up. GSP said that the injury wont effect whether or not he returns to competition but it is hard to imagine how it couldn’t. It will be a nine month process for St Pierre to rehab from this, the second major knee surgery of his career, and does he want to put in the effort required to do so? Only time will tell for sure but seems like everyone has an opinion on if Georges will come back or not. What do you guys think?
Former lightweight champion Frankie Edgar is starting his press tour promoting his upcoming season of The Ultimate Fighter which will air tomorrow on FOX Sports 1 after the TUF Nations Finale. The Answer is seen here in New York on FOX News doing an interview regarding the show. TUF should be interesting but what I am really looking forward to is seeing Edgar and BJ Penn square off for the third time, but this bout will be at featherweight.
Very happy birthday shout out to the one and only Mike Dolce. The fitness/nutrition guru has taken the MMA world by a storm over the past couple years with his knowledge of both fitness and nutrition and his positive impact on the sport is only continuing to grow. You can find Dolce in the corner of some top athletes like champions Ronda Rousey and Johny Hendricks and I have no doubt more and more professionals will be seeking him out for help with their nutrition and weight cutting programs as time goes on. All the best to Mike and his family, Happy Birthday Sir.
Always nice to take a look at UFC Octagon girl Chrissy Blair.
Big fight this weekend for Miesha against former title contender Liz Carmouche who arguably has put the champion Ronda Rousey in the most danger of her career. Miesha is seen here ready to head to Orlando from her home in Las Vegas. Big opportunity for both Liz and Miesha to show they deserve to stand at the top of the division, and for Miesha an impressive victory should help her forget about her recent loss to rival Ronda Rousey. Good luck this weekend to both Miesha and Carmouche.
The former UFC champ is getting ready for his Bellator Light-Heavyweight tournament final bout against Muhammed Lawal and looks to be training hard. Rampage is undefeated since moving over to Bellator and will look to earn his third finish in a row when he squares off with Lawal on May 17th in Mississippi.
Travis Browne is not a small man and at 6’7″ planes are not designed for someone his size. Hapa is on his way from Albuquerque to Orlando where he will be main eventing the UFC’s card on FOX this Saturday against number one contender Fabricio Werdum. It sucks that a main event fighter on a big FOX card still has to fly coach but someday, when there is more money in the sport, that will change.
