Nate Diaz Fined $20,000, Suspended For 90 Days For Tweet

The UFC announced Nate Diaz’s punishment and it is much more severe than fellow fighter Matt Mitrione.  Here is what the organization had to say on the matter in a statement released Friday afternoon.

UFC lightweight Nate Diaz has received an immediate 90-day suspension and $20,000 fine for violating the UFC’s fighter code of conduct. The language used in his tweet was regrettable, offensive and inconsistent with the values and culture of the organization, and is not tolerated.

The money will be donated to charity.

Think society is a little to sensitive about stuff like this but it was pretty obvious that there would be repercussions for using that word.  Got to be smarter about what he puts out on his social media accounts.  I think if Nate would have come out and apologized about the tweet the UFC would have been much more lenient.  Dana says all the time he wants to see how people react when they make mistakes and will judge them much more based off that.
