GSP Fought Nick Diaz With An Injured Achilles

MMA Fighting reports that welterweight champ Georges St. Pierre fought Nick Diaz with an injured achilles. GSP’s head trainer, Firas Zahabi commented on the injury saying “I was worried it would tear during the fight.  We had to cut his last sparring [session] short due to his injury. He had a week to rest it and then the fight.”  Zahabi would later go on to say that he hopes GSP does not return to action for six months citing that he had just fought twice in four months and needs to recover.  Hendricks will have to wait a little bit longer to fight the champ as he was hoping for an August showdown.
